Musically upbeat and vocally buttery velvet this is reminiscent of Ivy’s Long Distance or Jem’s Finally Woken but lyrically retrospective with flavorings of a Shawn Colvin or Jonatha Brooke. The over all theme is longing for intense relationship. She starts with an uncompromising standard in” Nomad” that she would rather be alone than settle for an unauthentic love. And “Add up my Love” is a sensible song about an insensible relationship with an infectious melody. The hint of 60s psychedelic “Echo” is masterful. Highlights of this work for me are definitely “Sexy to Someone” and “Terrapin” but I found the entire album to be compulsively indulgent like a good dessert. I just couldnt stop listening until every savory note was devoured. This is a long drive album sounding great coming through the speakers mixed with highway hum. One of the most listenable album I’ve checked out so far. Put it on and hit the road.
